The 2009/2010 season is here and with it Ireland have launched a brand new Irish Rugby jersey and kit which is designed and made my Puma.
The new Ireland shirt is reminiscent of a classic Irish rugby shirt with a simple design and a familiar shade of green puma calls “power green”. The design is also complemented by a new Irish rugby logo which also mirrors something of a retro look.

New Puma Irish Rugby Jersey
After a long relationship with rugby shirt manufacturer Canterbury of New Zealand, the IRFU have recently announced a new partnership with sports band Puma.
Puma has historically been associated with athletics and football however a move into the world of rugby has been successful with teams such as Bath and Harlequins wearing Puma.
Puma have also grown its rugby boot sales over the last few years, showing the brand is committed to Rugby. We hope that this commitment means that we will see Puma continuing to work closely with the Irish rugby team and ensure that performance and style can be successfully mixed.
Rugby shirts have moved on since the heavy-duty cotton shirts worn a decade ago. Now a lot of investment goes into the technology of a modern rugby jersey.
The new Irish rugby jersey is said to benefit from the work puma does with the Ferrari F1 team ensuring that moisture is kept to a minimum keeping the player dry. Pumas “pumaflex” panels are also used to ensure that total movement is not hampered by the shirt allowing a player to twist and turn in the shirt with little friction.
