should we be disappointed or were we living an illusion that the team was great. they could have been great. they had chances to win but the record shows they have been second best in six nations (perhaps?) because England,Wales and Scotland have been in a slump. on the form shown in the world cup they are now contenders for the wooden spoon.
the silver lining is that some of the players are young enough to continue if they can reocver their confidence and lift their game. with a diferent direction, development and full exploitation of talent we could come good. look at France's Dominici at 35 - this team could come good if they had a plan B, a new captain instead of the whining BOD and selection of players in form, dropping of those playing badly and use of the bench

  2. Im pretty sure what ireland need is to get rid of stupid EOS, he is a total joke!!
O'Gambeler had a terible WC and was clearly going to play terible in every game but yet Paddy Wallace sat on the bench nearly the whole WC except when he got his lucky break 2minutes against namibia.
Ireland should be split its about time, Northern Ireland could produce a quality side maybe not to the standard of Ireland but would be a middle ground team and this would give a chance for all the young ulster players to actually get caps that arent a few minutes.
Even though there are young players in the Ireland team it makes no difference they wont get played! old EOS will stick to his old players and the pack age will equal the weight eventually as with all irish packs.
The pack forgot to turn up to every match, Neil Best was the only player i saw in any of the matches to actually contest a ruck all the rest just stood and watched. You cant do that against the argies who hit rucks and actually try!
    Total disgrace

guy not quite sure why you advocate splitting into two teams - we have precious few players as it is.

  4. Id like to see what sort of team Northern Ireland would produce. I think Northern irish rugby has got alot of talent which isnt used thanks to old EOS.
It wouldnt be in the interest or use to anybody really except people from Ulster who would like to do more than warm the bench for their country.

I agree few Ulster players get a chance with EOS - look at the dreadful treatment of Humphreys. but looking at Ulster's poor performances I wonder just who might warrants the call ?
