Munster 21-19 Leicester

Heineken cup champions, Munster, pulled out a great a win against cup rivals Leicester in what proved to be a pulsating match to the end. Ronan O’Gara clinched the win with a late penalty to win the game in a wet Welford Road. Leicester had done well earlier in the game to come back from a nine point deficit only to be cost by indiscipline through out the game. Munster started and ended well with first half tries from second row star Donna O’Callaghan and David Wallace. Leicester did go ahead in the last minutes but not for long as Ronan thumped a great penalty from within his own half to snatch the win.

Munster lose away to Cardiff

Both Munster and Cardiff had a scrappy start to the game and the home side took the lead going into half-time. Munster rested some of its biggest stars and they were suffering from early season blues, no pun intended. Munster did come back with only 13 men but it was too little too late. Final score on the night, Cardiff 22-13 Munster.
