Irish Rugby union out of the red!

After three years, the Irish rugby union have made a profit of €0.8million for the season just gone. The announcement was made at the IRFU’s annual council meeting, where John Lyons (honorary treasurer) informed press that the revenue increased from €38.85 million in 2004/05 to €46.6million in 2005/06. This increase was mainly due to a boost in broadcasting and commercial contracts and as a result of three Irish six nations’ matches being staged in Lansdowne Road.
