Ireland will play Italy at Ravenhill towards the end of August next year in preparation for the world cup.
It will be the first time since February 1954 that a full international has been hosted in the Belfast venue.
Ravenhill, the home of Ulster rugby, will bring a Lansdowne Road feel to the game with its intimate pitch side stands.
