Australia 37-15 Ireland
Ireland were showing the result of a long international and club season, they were clearly worn out in the third quarter and struggled to keep up with a solid wallabies side. The game started brightly with both teams running in tries, Ireland played some exciting rugby out of hand obviously a showing a new found confidence in themselves. They turned Australia over numerous times showing their strength and ability to play of the “deck”.
It was not till into the second half Australia started pull away and widen the scoring margin. A valiant end of season performance and even though the result was not in our favour there is unquestionably a side which can hopefully dominate next season.
Kick off: 11:00 a.m. (Irish/UK time) – Sky Sports 2
Tomorrow Ireland will face Australia in what promises to be a great match. Ireland displayed real grit and determination in the two recent New Zealand games and the team should be confident facing Australia.
